Before long, people are going to notice a change in you. Depending on your life before Christ, the changes may be more drastic. For some of you, it may be more subtle. As you pray and walk with God, He will show you areas in your life that do not align with His will. Much of this may come through your conscience. Sometimes it will be impressed upon you by other believers. As God brings about these changes, you may not even recognize yourself. Remember 2 Corinthians 5:17: “Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come.” For many of you, the changes God requires may be very difficult. You may have to abandon friends. You will have to stop certain behaviors. As you shed the old life, God will replace it with your new life. As God changes you, you will feel different and act differently. Your friends and co-workers will notice a change and they may even comment.

Each day, you should be able to reflect on your words, actions, and attitudes and realize that those things look different than before. Ideally, past behaviors will no longer have the same appeal. God wants you ”to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness” -Ephesians 4:23-24

In all that you do, ask yourself if God will be reflected in your actions; both privately and publicly. As you interact with those around you, ask yourself if they would want Christ in their lives too.
